Mr. Mawuli Ocloo

Mawuli Ocloo has over 25 years sales and marketing management experience having worked in financial service, consumer goods, broadcasting, professional services as well as sales and marketing services industries. As a trainer, Mawuli has conducted sales, marketing and customer service training for a wide range of both local and multinational clients including ADB, GCB, NIB, Nestle, Tigo, ACP Concrete Products, PZ Cussons, HPZ, PMMC, Type Company, Multimedia Broadcasting, Liberty Capital, uniBank, Enterprise Life, Enterprise Trustees, Axis Pensions, Advans Ghana and many others. With respect to facilitating sales and marketing training in the financial sector, in 1994, Mawuli was a Training Associate with Philip Quartey & Associates with responsibility of lecturing Bank Marketing at the Saturday Banking College. In 2004/5, he also developed and facilitated in the series of Banking Services Sales Training Programs which were successfully run in collaborations with the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana. He has also facilitated sales training programs on behalf of PricewaterHouseCoopersand Ernst & Young sales training programmes conducted for their clients. In all, Mawuli has trained more than 400 hundred people in sales. Mawuli is also a co-author of the book “Becoming a Sales Star” Sedco-Longman Ghana (2006.)
Mawuli started his sales career at Hutton Ghana Limited, importers of vegetable oil and soaps where he was responsible for developing the distributor network in the northern sector of Ghana. Two years later in 1994, he joined Career Development Institute/Hospitality Associates as the Sales and Marketing Manager. In 1995, Mawuli moved on to Multimedia Broadcasting Company as the General Manager, Sales and Marketing. At Multimedia Broadcasting Company, Mawuli developed all strategic and operational marketing and sales plans. He established and managed a sales division with over twenty staff for all the two radio stations. He also designed and implemented sales training programs with a hands-on approach, developed sales and marketing systems/procedures, and radio promotional strategies to establish Joy FM and Luv FM as market leaders in the media industry. Since 2001, as the CEO of WestPoint Consulting, Mawuli has worked on several trade marketing, below-the-line marketing, channel strategy, market research and sales and service training projects for FMCG companies such as Nestle, Unilever, SC Johnson, Guinness, CCTC, Coca-Cola and Sunripe Fruit Processing. In 2012, Mawuli was contracted on a one-year contract by Mount Rock Capital, an offshore financial services to help set up office in Ghana, as well as establish the sales force made up of a team of Financial Advisors.
Mawuli Ocloo graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon with a BA Degree in French and Spanish,
and holds a Post-graduate Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
